Hi there...

I dropped my Ibanez RG320FM today at the guitar tech to do some modifications...

1- Replace stock INF pickups with Dimarzio Crunch Lab/Liquifire
2- Install an orange drop at tone pot
3- Upgrade the volume mod
4- Polish the frets and make guitar setup

This is the guitar before...

I can't wait to take the guitar and try it... It is expected to take it next Friday.. I will post a pic after modifications once I get it...

Solid.

Can't say I think you'll really notice a difference between the stock ceramic cap and the orange drop, cap dielectric really doesn't matter in a guitar's tone control circuit.

You CAN play anything with anything....but some guitars sound right for some things, and not for others. Single coils sound retarded for metal, though those who are apeshit about harpsichord probably beg to differ.

You will love the new pickups. Just about any pickups sound better than the Ibanez stock's.

As far as the orange cap...a lot of people like them and have heard evidence of a change.

But since you are doing to pickups at the same time it's going to be hard to know if it did anything.

I got it...

Here is the Ibby after some modifications... minor change in appearance but pretty much change in tone...

cool, but I would have saved the money the shop charged you and soldered my own pickups on.
the tone cap in the guitar doesn't make any difference

have fun with the mods, I know the pickups are a huge upgrade

I am an idiot with soldering... burnt my fingers many times before I quit trying... besides mods in Egypt are not expensive... I paid less than $60 for all mods listed above including parts (excluding pickups of course)

OK then I would have paid someone also.

I do highly suggest you get a cheap soldering iron so you can learn in to do your own in the future. It is deff worth it.

+1, I just swapped a set of pickups in all of 20 minutes, about half of which was just dealing with the friggin' rings
