I have this old Jay Turser PRS CU 24 copy, that I dug out of my parents basement from when I was a kid. The guitar feels great, and the body/neck are well copied, compared to my CU24; but everything else on it is the shits. I decided to gut it, and replace everything to have a good gigging axe.

The problem is, that when I got to the 2 point them, I fucked up. I bought a new Wilkison term for her, but once I got the old one completely removed (bushings and all) I discovered that the new one doesn't fit

The old one is bigger. 2-5/8 centre hole to centre hole. I can't seem to find any 2 pt terms out there that will fit this. It seems like and unusual size to me.

Does anyone know of one that will fit? Or will I be forced to fill the holes and drill new ones? Can I even do that with such a small size difference? I mean, I would have to fill it, then drill the new holes partially through what I just filled.

Thanks!

That's very similar to the Wilkison that I already have. It only goes up to 62mm, and my current spacing is 65mm. Thats why I initially assumed I was safe, and tore the old one off

.... And Fuck You!! It feels kinda warm here today too... It's only -23C with he wind chill

Awesome man. I appreciate it!

It would be much more convenient to find something that can fit (if it exists), instead of filling and re-drilling holes.

I can't help you on the trem.

As far as plugging and drilling goes, yes you would have drill through part of the plugged hole. That is why it is important to make sure the plug fits very tightly.
I don't give a shit if you listen to me or not

Well shit... Looks like I'll have to work my nerve up, and fill the holes. Whats the best way to go about lining up the new bridge?

use your current holes to get where the center line of the holes will be.

Then after you fill the holes and sand the dowel's flush with the body set the bridge in place and use some string to run from the high and low E strings to the bridge. This will allow you to get bridge lined up correctly.

also when you drill the new post holes make sure to use a brad-point bit so the drill does not wander.
