I really love Mew's album "And the Glass Handed Kites". The guitar sound has always intreagued me. It's super twangy. It almost sounds as of the strings on the guitar are loose if that makes sense. Any idea how they are getting that sound? Here are some clips

Any help tips for what is going on there are greatly appreciated.

The gear I have is an Epiphone Es-335 Pro, Fender MIM Standard Strat, Fender Super Champ X2. Overdrive, Chorus, Delay, Reverb pedals.

sounds like they have some slightly detuned modulation going on using perhaps a chorus or delay. that would give it that loose sound.

Try using your strat on the bridge setting with some very light chorus, and use the amp model 5 (Princeton Clean I think). Also using a lighter gauge and detuning the strings to an alternate tuning can help with the looseness.

it sounds like it is on the bridge, but i would mod the bridge pickup so that you would have a tone control on it. it is quick and easy.
