Not sure if there's an appropriate forum for this kind of question and I'm not sure how much it will help me posting here but I wanted to get some other opinions on the topic of going to concerts by yourself?

I get that it's probably not a big deal. I personally don't think it should be, but it is going to be my first concert ever, so there is some first-time anxiousness and whatnot especially because I'm going by myself. No one I know is able to go or even remotely listens to/seems interested in any of the bands that are playing (CHON, Polyphia, and Strawberry Girls). I've been wanting to see a tour like this for a while and since they're coming through my area this year (and the tickets are super cheap), I absolutely want to go no matter what.

I honestly just need some small advice or assurances from people to help ease my anxiousness about going alone and was hoping you fine people in The Pit could help!

You'll be fine dude. Everyone's there to enjoy the show, nobody cares if you're by yourself or not.

I've gone by myself to a couple. one I felt a little awkward and the other I didn't. the Tool show in the mosh pit kept me occupied so I didn't feel so by myself. I think it's pretty normal for people to go by themselves. no big deal

i've surprisingly never been to a concert alone.
have always had the company of a friend or 2

but i would have had a great time with out them, obviously.

when you're at a death metal concert or similar venue with lots of mosh pits, nobody will notice that you're alone lol

same thing with any concert, plenty of people go alone. It doesn't really make a difference, because you're not there to socialize, you're there to enjoy the band performing.

haha they're getting pretty popular. Pretty decent crowd (and godly performance) at this one in Austin last year.

That's not true. The four band members probably got there together.

Eyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy I saw this tour, sounds dope af. I've seen 2/3 of those bands live and they kill it. You should definitely go.

I prefer going to concerts by myself honestly. I've driven 3 hours to go to shows on my own, and I've spent plenty of money on tickets for myself. If I want to see a band I'll go, and if I know someone else who likes them I'll ask but that's not a deciding factor for me

I do it all the time and then make friends with random people at the gig who I'll never see again.

Except this one time....

Nothing wrong with it fella, done a few on my own now (Alestorm, Norther, Turisas, PVRIS, Neck Deep, BMTH and I'm going to Download on my own (most likely) this summer).

No one will be bothered. Just pick somewhere to stand (if you're tall, try not to be a dick and stand in front of the short guy) and enjoy it!

I've seen CHON at a festival and it was exceptionally chilled out tbh... everyone was just sat on the grass, it was mid afternoon in the summer and it was nice to just listen to haha.

I'd be down for going to shows alone if any good shows were ever in my area. I always gotta drive out to Pittsburgh to see shows which is around an hour and a half drive from here, so it's not really worth it to ever go myself.
