my feelings aside tho
if there's something significantly better than pandora i will use it

Saved playlists on Spotify are hit or miss, but when they hit, they're awesome. Last.fm's service does a pretty good job if you're into genres that aren't really in the popular realm. They've got really great, like, japanese instrumental math rock for example.

i think i have a last.fm account.
the music player i use, musicbee, has a built in thing for it
i oughta use it maybe
#8
pandora by far has the best "i like this song help me find songs like it" service ever. i'm not keen on how limited the discography can be sometimes tho
will someone carry me across ten thousand miles under the silence

about once a week i get little "i should just write my own music player" feelings

About

One of Europe's oldest and strongest independent and non-commercial urban radio stations. Forever young. LISTEN NOW!: http://kruljo.radiostudent.si:8000/ehiq

Mission

Based in Ljubljana, the capital of Slovenia, established in 1969 by the Student Organisation of the University of Ljubljana, the legendary Radio Študent (R&Scaron is one of Europe's oldest and strongest non-commercial, alternative urban radio stations, attracting over 200 contributors to its high-quality non-commercial programming 24 hours per day. Radio Študent is broadcast on 89.3 MHz (500 W) UKV stereo, covering Ljubljana and its surroundings (500,000 potential listeners) and via internet stream since 6th may 1998: http://kruljo.radiostudent.si:8000/ehiq

Since its beginnings RADIO STUDENT has been promoting tolerance, respect for the difference of opinion, freedom, truth, solidarity, multiculturalism etc. The promotion of the values mentioned above is carried out at two levels: at the educational one (not only on the level of education of listeners, but also on the one of authors) and at the practical one, as Radio Student acts as a mirror to the Slovene society, in which it can check to what extent it is ready to accept the widely proclaimed values in reality.

Company Overview

RADIO STUDENT is a non-profit, urban community radio station and educational organization, covering diverse cultural & social strata. Apart from creating and broadcasting highly diverse musical, art, educational and information programs, Radio Student puts a great emphasis also on the education of its young contributors - future journalists, sound engineers, D.J.s, announcers etc. - for the radio and other media works.

RADIO STUDENT is an independent medium. At Radio Student there are only five full-time employees, which are joined by over 200 regular contributors: journalists, art and music critics, D.J.s, announcers, technicians etc. The majority of them are students and youngs, and a number of them are highly respected intellectuals, journalists, artists and university lecturers.

Radio Student has its own record label ZARS (http://zalozba.radiostudent.si/) and produces two annual music festivals, TRESK (www.tresk.si) in the spring and KLUBSKI MARATON (http://www.radiostudent.si/klubskimaraton/) in autumn.

We are also open for cooperation in the diverse field of contemporary investigative art practices through our Open radio art theory investigative platform RADAR (http://radiostudent.si/radar/) and we are a member of international radio art network Radia (http://www.radia.fm/).

Description

Due to the variety and range of his contributors, many innovative cultural, political and social initiatives have sprung from the activities of Radio Študent. RŠ programming policy fuses community radio and public service concepts. From its earliest days the station has promoted civil society initiatives, particularly in connection with urban lifestyles, freedom of speech, independent thought, libertarian values, cultural diversity, social critique, tolerance, social solidarity and human rights. In the 1990s during the bloody war in ex-Yugoslavia RŠ broadcast a dedicated programme for refugees in Slovenia.

In the history of Slovene radio broadcasting RŠ stands out as the foremost presenter and critical evaluator of actual global music events with its characteristic form of music criticism, heartfelt and absorbed presentation of liminal, edgy, marginalised and socially provocative music from the world, ranging from all alternative forms of rock, jazz and improvised music, avant-garde and folk music, experimental music, contemporary DJ and electrophonic music.

Preach.

Although using Pandora at work is the best. Blasting Tool in the office actually motivates me.

Yeah, I like it because it plays stuff similar to bands I already like, and it lets me figure out if I like a new band before going and buying their albums
