i am thinking around $2 a pack. .09's or .10's.

i don't need the best, as i am going to use these to keep on my guitars that don't get much use, and are case kept.

sooo. MF has their "musicians gear" strings ~$2.20

just strings has their "just strings" is hanging around ~$3.50

stringsandbeyond have Martin strings for ~$2.90

______

what would you do? has anybody had experience with the musician's gear?

i am leaning toward martin ATM.

Try them, they are dirt cheap. But i always put elexirs on guitars i dont use much, because they last longer.

Most of what I have at GHS Boomers, followed by whatever I find on sale.

I get GHS Boomers in 6 packs and Dunlops in 3 packs, that's good deal. For guitars that I store I'm using stainless steel strings.

I typically use D'Addario or EB but I have ordered a few sets of the Musicians gear electric and acoustic strings and I have no issues with them at all. I actually have a set of 10's and an acoustic set I haven't used yet.

I use Harley Benton (Thomann's brand) strings on a few of my guitars that I don't use as often. If they're fresh, I honestly don't hear a difference with new EB's or Elixirs. They wear off a lot faster than the EB's though and even faster in comparison to Elixirs. I do as long with EB's over the cheap ones as I do with Elixirs over EB, if that's worth something.

I fork over the extra 2 bucks for D'Addarios. I always found GHS and Dunlops... just... weird sounding. Same for DR strings. I don't know if it's real or in my head.

I bought 40 sets of the Musicians Friend strings last year on a "Stupid Deal" for $1.80 a set. I usually use Ernie Ball regular Slinky's that I buy in the "buy 10 get two free" box. and while the Slinky's are a little brighter (I might be just being picky) the musicians Friend strings are not bad at all. Like others here, I have somewhere around 20-25 guitars and there are ones that don't get played all that often so they will get the MF strings. Last night I was noodling on an Epiphone Les Paul Traditional that I put a set of MF strings on about 6 months ago and they sounded OK.
Yes I am guitarded also, nice to meet you.

Ditto. The Boomers (there are also Boomers that have been rebranded out there; Carvin has sold them) have been pretty reliable for every day use.
