How do you get a guitar to play through a laptop, specifically, an i7 2.5 ghz, 8 gb running win 10, without latency. I've been wanting to do this for the last 9 months, but win 8 had unacceptable latency with Guitar Rig 5, and there seems to be no way to separate the input path, from a USB converter, to the output, the existingd Realtek audio in the laptop. It seems someone should have come up with a simple way to do this by now. I've tried Amplitube, Guitar Rig, and numerous uncounted other samples simulators, but none seem to work. I've literally almost thrown my guitar out the window and have not attempted to do this for the last 5 months (just playing my acoustic). I've heard computers are the way to go for amp simulation, but I'm not sure anymore.
You have switched off all the usual crap in Windows haven't you?
Also, check out the Recording forum on this site.
You haven't mentioned if you're using an audio interface or a cheap chinese adaptor , if it's the latter, you won't achieve neither good audio nor no-latency
