how heavy can it really get? while reaper and lepou gives good results and its awesome. considering a budget high gain tube amp. obviously the peavey vypyr tube 60 is always an option. just wanting to get some feedback on this amp, its about the same price. another choice would be the 6505 112. just something i dont have to plug up into the pc.

i haven't tried the 22 but i think the preamp is the same as the 50 (which is have). in which case it should get pretty heavy. probably not just as brootal as the 6505 (which i also haven't tried in that combo version, just the heads), though- it has a more 80s voicing I think.

FWIW, while I haven't tried the 22, I've heard people say that the 50 actually does low volume tones better than the 22. It's a bit more money, though.

I'll have to put the Classic T models on my to-try list. Shame the finish options there are Anachronism Gold, Nuclear Waste and Aged Clown, because in principle the plaintop is right up my alley.

Presumably because the CCF (Combined Corksniffing Forces) of MLP and Gibson forums would rise up against them, plunging the land into war.

Doesn't the 22 have the preamp of the 52? That's the Lucky 13 one.

No. 2212 is the same amp as JCA22h, which has the same preamp as 50h and 100h. Nothing to do with JCA5212 even though the name might suggest it. Jet City certainly did not make things easy.

It has ton of gain stock, though not exactly brutal kind but with a boost it gets there. There are loads of metal and high gain demos about the head version JCA22h on youtube so check them out.

AFAIK the 2112RC (20w, 1ch, controls on top) also has the lucky13 pre.

Clue: amplifiers amplify so don't turn it on if you need quiet.

the JCA20h and JCA2112r combo have the same preamp as the Astroverb, but ony the combo has reverb.

Now the Astroverb may be similar to the Lucky 13, but I don't know

the 5212 only gets to hard rock style gain, but it does have a nice clean channel.

^ yeah. i think (don't quote me) the 5212 has the lower gain channel from the high gain jet cities as its overdrive channel.
