The goat thread reminded me I used to do pig song. I wrote the song back in the 70s. A lot of country music people were doing recitation type songs, whispering Bill Anderson, Jimmy Dean, David Allen Coe and a host of others. I thought I'd get in on the fun.
It was about how I grow up on a farm in southern Iowa. I told all my father was pig farmer. He was not a pig farmer ,in the usual way . He milked the pigs and made pig cheese and a bunch of other dairy products.
It was a mockery.
I did a mockery of big bad John by Jimmy Dean. I could not tell it here. It is too dirty. The backwoods hillbillies of north west Illinois, it was not too offensive for them. I guess they are more, what do I want to say? Progressive, enlightened, open-minded, than this place is.

remember when yope vowed to make fewer threads

He also said something about needing to remember to remember stuff when you're like 50+.

Maybe he just forgot to remember

Piano dick had some good parts, but should have said "As the business man slowly gets boned", would have accented the whole dick feeling of the album

btw, we want to hear it
if it's meant in jest and you say you wrote it back then I don't think anyone will care

Although your reluctance to post it suggests that you didn't actually write it and you're just blowing it out your ass, wouldn't surprise me

I got time now and I can talk.

I performed the pig song for many years, I don't know why. I guess it was for the shock value, it was so strange. I have a sense of the absurd I guess. Charlie Daniels doing uneasy rider begged to be mocked as did all those others.

It was just with one band I did that song but that was a very long lived w/ many personnel changes. I think I told you about it already when I first came here.

I wrote another one called Cooksie that I performed with quite a number of bands. Including the one I did the pig song with. I've got that one recorded. I could post a recording of that.

The pig song? I can't sing very well but I have an excellent speaking voice . I put this slight talent to use for the pig song and for telemarketing. Although with telemarketing I used many accents. I used snotty English accent, one of the Beatles talking accent, Martin Luther King impression, a dried out old highway patrolman called Ross Ferguson, sometimes I use the name Chuck Patterson. My boss told me to stop using fake names I went to work one day and on my screen it said Ross Ferguson does not work here. One of my favorite voices was the cartoon chicken foghorn Leghorn I need your love to keep me warm.

The pig song? It just told the story of my father being a dairy farmer who milked sows instead of cows. How one awful winter, how vivid in my memory it stands, a particularly harsh winter. Our dairy herd froze to death. Then spring came and we were overjoyed to find that the pigs were hibernating and they were not dead. I took about 10 minutes to recite the story. Pretty clever stuff. It was a good way to kill 10 minutes.

My bandmates, I don't think, particularly liked it I don't think anybody did. I suppose a few people liked it's because of its total absurdity.

My bandmates did like Cooksey not just one. But like I said I played that w/ a lot of bands and everybody liked it okay.

It told the story of a guy I know who ran away from home to live in a commune. Now I played that song for a heck of a lot of people over the years and Cooksey hated me for it.Cooksie was insane though he could sing like Caruso .no fooling .

I will post it in the original song section soon.

The Jimmy Dean song was super pornographic and was never performed in public but was made up on the way home by me at a bandmate during a long drive home after a gig. It was so good I still remember most of it. I'm afraid to say it here because it has racial overtones and is loaded with vivid sexual content. We didn't call it big bad John. We called it big black Dick.nuff said ?
