Hello, next week im picking up an late 80's / early 90's ESP George Lynch Sunburst Tiger. I've heard that these guitars can be a bit tricky to date because of the fire in the factory back in the day. The seller say's its 1991 modell.. It had ebony fingerboard and first generation Seymour Duncan Screaming Demoon.

Does anyone here know how to date these guitars?

Just take it out for a nice meal, treat it nice and don't mess around with other guitars behind its back. That's usually how I date mine.

I got a reply from ESP USA. They couldnt date the guitar because it was sold overseas(?)
Now i have to contact ESP Japan, but i dont speak Japanese...

Any tips?

Sadly there isn't much more that can be done. The info you all ready have is probably the best you can get. I've had this problem on my M-2 and they only gave me a rough estimate. Also that is a bad ass guitar
