i'm doing an underappreciated 90s emo playlist on youtube
only one song per band
if the band is popular, it's gotta be something the average skinny emo ass eater wouldn't listen to every day. for example, for the promise ring i put 'e texas ave'

emo in this case means midwest or emo-pop or emocore or whatever, but probably not any screamo cause that deserves its own playlist ya know?

HERE IT IS

hit me up with suggestions. i only through a few things on that i've been listening to this hot minute so obvious suggestions are appreicated

if you don't know what emo is you can listen to this playlist (put it on shuffle, it's in no particular order) but it's probably not the best intro. carpe diem tho

you used my song :')

almost all of these tracks have a watched tag on them and it makes me feel so uncool but in a cool way

#3
nice job man

will be listening to those tracks!

feel free to post some more ITT pls

the "emo" that i listen to is more early 2000's post-hardcore, like Hawthorn Heights.

and the late 90's emo that usually listen to is kinda jazzy, math rock,
like American Football, At the Drive in, or Capn' Jazz

this song is beautiful

^ I've just realised if you say Simple Plan's 2011 effort "Get Your Heart On!" really fast in a Southern American accent, it sounds gross. . .like sexual gross!

Pretty sure 90's emo has been given far more appreciation than it ever deserved
Come back if you want to
And remember who you are
‘Cause there's nothing here for you my dear
And everything must pass

Braid's comeback album was fantastic, and I'll never forgive myself for missing the Texas is the Reason reunion tour.

Also, your youtube mix is terribly incomplete without Mineral.

Shudder to Think
Not really an emo sound but the singer was creepily androgynous and wore blue makeup so that's close enough for me.

They were among the best of the post nirvana/pearl Jam signings.
These guys should have gotten big but instead we saw Creed blow up.
