i have had some of this stuff for a while, but i don't think i ever posted a N_D on it.

fittyonefitty- i had a 6505+ long time ago, and regretted selling it (although i did profit), but i like the 5150 a bit more. the cleans suck more than i remember, but thats why i own 15 tube amps . brutal as hell. i got it for around $500 (i can't remember exactly how much). it has one weird quirk, it only runs at 16 ohms, but that isn't really a big deal. for how cheap i got it i could easily mod it back. here is a reason why i think every metal guitarist needs a 5150, it does what it does, and nothing quite goes right there.

Fulltone Catalyst - paid $55 for it. i actually really like it, it basically is a clean boost and fuzz (toggle switch), and it works great as both. my only gripe with it is that it has a different gain level on the fuzz than the clean boost.

Pigtronix Aria distortion - pretty sweet overall, the EQ controls are VERY broad, you can get just about anything out of it. i have been using it to boost the second channel of an amp, it gets that uber compressed sweet tone that works with the neck pickup. i paid next to nothing for it so i have no regrets.

Malekko Fetish - it is a sick fuzzy sounding distortion. i LOVE it. it goes really well with my Orange amps, it has its unique vibe, i cannot describe it exactly, but its worth a look.

Malekko Unity - it is a sick fuzz. really broad potential, it has switchable compression selection on it, and it just lets a huge range of nastiness. it is a must have, you can find them really cheap too.

Visual Sound H20 - this is the best $70 i have spent in a LONG time. it is a BBD chorus and digital delay all-in-one. it is just flat magical. the chorus is spectacular, as well as the delay. it is just beautiful. i know that i only need to bring two pedals to a gig. this, and a (ironically also) a visual sounds double trouble (dual TS). that covers the OD, and the H20 takes care of the delay and chorus. sweet deals.

Congrats on all the gear! Especially that H20- the V2 version of that was one of the first "good" pedals I bought. Never regretted it for an instant.

And welcom to the wonderful world of Pigtronix pedals. David Koltai make some good stuff. (For those who don't know, he's also behind the revival of Supro amps.)

thanks! the H20 actually really surprised me, i wasn't expecting something that great for such a small cash layout. saw it was cheap and BBD, and that got me.

i got another pigtronix pedal, but it arrived DOA. i am still trying to hash it out with the seller on reverb (dot com).

Ouch! I hate it when that happens. I just had to return the second Belmont I bought- the center pickup was not working right. Considering I paid less for one that was flawless, I didn't feel like getting it fixed.

Hopefully, the seller will be a stand-up guy.

I'll have to put the Classic T models on my to-try list. Shame the finish options there are Anachronism Gold, Nuclear Waste and Aged Clown, because in principle the plaintop is right up my alley.

Great haul. I agree 100% on the 5150. I actually got rid of my 3 channel dual rec because of how much i like the 5150 (just bought a rectoverb though).

I have heard great things about the H20, I am looking into pedals at the moment so I'll have to give that a look as well.

5150s are pretty much a staple if you play metal. I won't be getting rid of my tremoverb any time soon though It is important too.

Sweet amp/haul!

What's wrong with the impedance selector? There should be 2 speaker outputs and the selector to the right, if I remember correctly (had the 5150 and 5150 II more than 4 years ago).

Thanks!

The impedance is hard wired at 16ohms, I don't know why but it is fine, properly modified. Not a big deal.

FWIW, while there are still V1 & V2 H20s out there to be had at stupid low prices, TrueTone (the successor company to Visual Sound) has launched the V3 generation of many of their classic dual pedals, including the H20.

http://truetone.com
http://truetone.com/v3-series/h20/

Definitely worth looking at.

I've got the Liquid Chorus (Chorus half of the H20) and its great.
Bought before even hearing it and purely on the reputation of their Senior Engineer.
The guy knows his pedals.
