Hi all,

I have bought and paid for an Epiphone Casino Blak and Blu with the bigsby trem arm about three months ago. The shop has been unable to supply me with the guitar even though I have paid in full.

What do I do?! There is a second hand one available.... Or do I use my fortunate position to buy something slightly better?

I wasa slightly concerned that the casino does not allow access to the higher end of the fret board, but I love the finish and sound.

I also play a Fender Strat 1991 Ultra and Gibson SG....... Should I have an Epiphone? Or Should I push for a Gibson 335???

Any suggestions and comments welcome!

Thanks

I have the 390 LE version (shocking, I know!) and can say Manta Rays kick ass.

+1. i really want a 335. FWIW i haven't played a dodgy 335 yet [although admittedly i haven't played more than a half dozen that i can remember].

As I mentioned in your other thread, the Reverend Manta Ray 290 is a well made, good sounding double-cut semihollow axe that should deliver what the p90-equipped Epi B&B promises, and for about the same price.

I will jump on the Reverend Manta Ray 290 train as well. I owned one and they are very well made guitars. I have found that they are becoming harder and harder to find for some reason. I had one about 3 or 4 years ago and got it for like 550 USD, can't seem to find them for that price now though.

The reason you don't see them as often is- for some reason- they don't make the 290 anymore. There are other guitars in their line with the double or even triple P90 configuration, but not Manta Rays anymore.

I knew they were out of production, just was hoping to find more on the used market. Apparently, nobody wants to get rid of them, and rightfully so. Hopefully they will start popping up more like the daredevils, which those are on my list as well.

I think I've only seen a couple used 290 Mantas in the past year. There are still a few NOS ones out there, though.
