Just wondering since I've been making a list of new work clothes to buy. Your responses won't help me at all for the most part but I guarantee I will find them interesting.

I work with kids so I usually just wear an okay sweater and stretchy jeans or jeggings with boots or loafers. I am currently trying to upgrade from jeans/jeggings to nicer bottoms. I have dozens of cute dresses from previous jobs but pants are better for working with kids so I don't get to wear dresses unless I'm just using the computer that day.

Shirt and jeans. It doesn't matter since I have to wear a labcoat, a goofy hair net that covers the whole head and safety glasses. Shoes don't matter either, unless you're in the technician department. Then you have to wear steel toed.

On days when I'm actively working with people who pay/evaluate me:
navy jacket with herringbone pattern or a gray pinstriped jacket, with matching trousers
tie in dark hues
brighter pocket square folded in a conservative flat fold
black belt
black Johnston & Murphy shoes

when I'm just doing program evaluation in my dungeon/office or tutoring:
approachable-looking polo shirt
approachable-looking jeans
painfully white sneakers

I'm lucky enough to work in an office but still be able to wear what I want.

That usually just consists of jeans, trainers and a plain t-shirt.
#25
plain single colour jeans/chinos
leather belt
desert/chukka boots
button down shirt (with sleeves rolled up if worn by itself when it's warm)
single colour wool/cashmere sweater (v-neck or crew & only when it's cold)

sometimes if I'm in a rush and it's not that cold, I'll just wear a crew neck sweater with nothing but a t-shirt under it.

if I've got some important thing to do, I'll put on a tie, wear smart shoes and wool trousers.
O.K.

I work in an office, very lax with dress code. Basically a plain v necked t-shirt, or a henley, or flannel button up, almost anything really.

I wear band and sports shirts on occasion.

Then the standard blue jeans and chucks. I think the only rule is no shorts, but I wouldn't be surprised if I came in with them and no one cared.

Also forgot to mention that lately, I've been having to wear disposable lab coats since they haven't been washing the regular ones out as much. Like today.
