I'm out of ideas so I'm hoping some sleuth out there can help me. I have been looking (for a very long time) for a little cover plate for a tuning knob for my Guild S65-D guitar. There are two knobs on an S65-D (one for volume, one for tone). Somewhere alone the line, one of my little cover plates went missing. They are about the size of a dime, thin metal, and have the Guild logo on them exactly as seen in this picture:

https://reverb-res.cloudinary.com/image/upload/s---2VmEUr6--/a_exif/v1385141541/wox6sdzunp5uxrzzrods.jpg (. . . which was this auction: https://reverb.com/item/41199-vintage-1970-s-guild-s-65d-s-65-d-electric-guitar-rare-made-in-the-usa )

I've already tried to get one from Guild directly - no luck. They are not exactly, well, errrr, communicative. If only I could find a vehicle junk yard equivalent for Guild Electric Guitars!

Any, any ,any suggestions appreciated!

You havent tried searching ebay or google? I mean a few sellers are doing those knobs.

If theyre out now Im sure they will have others.

That or you could try sourcing one yourself from a donor

Hi, thanks. Yes, I've tried eBay often enough but the results are not brilliant. There is this auction ongoing right now but it's more (and less) than I'm looking for:

Well aside from sourcing one from an old guild I think youll have trouble finding much better (could be wrong though) then the ones linked on ebay

They arent like the Gibson knobs where everybody wants them so they have a ton of repros.

Anyway you can also try here:

And maybe look up the Guild Guy if he is still around. Maybe he can lead you the right way.

EDIT: he is http://www.guildguy.com

Thanks, Kyle. I've given that a shot already, many times. Unfortunately, none of the local stores (and this is a huge population base) have any. I had given up on that but, since you mention it, I can always try contacting stores in other towns to see if they'd considered sticking one in an envelope for a few bucks.
