I just scored tickets to see the Generation Axe-A Night of Guitars concert on April 26th In Indianapolis IN.

Steve Vai
Zakk Wylde
Yngwie Malmsteen
Nuno Bettencourt
Tosin Abasi

It promises to be an epic mind blowing night of guitar shredding, I hope I survive!

Yes I'm freaking stoked!

nice . would love to go to that show. seen half of the lineup already but certainly would see them again as well as the ones i haven't seen.

Hopefully Zakk Wylde plays first so the audience goes deaf from pinch harmonics before they have to hear the rest of those hacks

I saw Satriani, Vai, and Eric Johnson on the G3 tour years ago Adrian Legg opened that show (wow was he awesome) I have seen Zakk many times, never saw Nuno or Malmsteen, I'm looking forward to seeing Yngwie!

If I had the money I'd head to Nashville TN. the following night to see them again!

I'm also going to see John 5 next Saturday it's bound to be telecaster shredding mayhem!

I saw Extreme on the tour they did for Pornograffitti(UK leg was 2014 I think). On the album, Dweezil Zappa played the intro solo to He Man Woman Hater, but Nuno did it live. The guy's a beast.

Weren't these guys already washed up in the 80s?

I'm pretty sure Tosin wasn't even a teenager in the 80's.

Well his musical ideas are certainly from that same washed up era.

Sounds like you haven't listened to him play.

Nothing wrong with 80's guitar virtuoso music

saw Vai with David Lee Roth on the Eat'em and Smile tour. saw Yngwie first with Alkatrazz and later solo. Zakk i saw at an in store appearance played a few things while giving a lecture and then signed autographs (i had him sign the soundtrack to Rock Star).

Steve is the drummer.

Zakk is playing a synth bass via keytar.

Yngwie plays blues recorder.

Nuno sings and makes fart noises with his armpits.

Tosin plays the frog.

Asking my buddy if he wants to go for won't succumb that to my fiance; she would hate it.

If I do, it will be the one in LI NY.

Get past the metal for a moment. Steve Vai I stopped associating him with metal a long time ago. Hell just watch this:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9IrWyZ0KZuk

Zakk: yes he is known for his metal guitar but his talents are so past that. I seen him in this rock and roll show (not That Metal Show) but some other show that haven't seen in awhile that he co-wrote this song on the spot and it was beautiful and far from metal and then there are the Youtube videos showing his abilities and knowledge way past what people call metal. Did you even know Zakk can play piano?

Yngwie Malmsteen not only suffered and re-developed himself and better his playing but also plays classical music in a rock fashion the guitar in ways not many can do.

The other 2 not familiar with their works as much.

So if you are truly into guitar, get your head out of your ass and appreciate the talent. You don't have to be a fan but they all have something you can learn from. I would love to see you play good enough to hold your own on stage with any of them. I been playing on and off for years and can say with confidence I can't but I do appreciate what they offer to the world of music. Fan or not.

School is over! Next topic!

Nah Insane Funeral are too busy on their co-headlining tour with Jay Seeney.
