here pic

dad and i went and got the title and plate today which cost me another $120 for whatever reason but hey yeah it is legal wooooooooooo getting that ~27.5 mpg

i am naming it beartooth. the station wagon i drove was named the chariot. the ford ranger i was driving was named attack attack! (because they were done as was the truck). caleb shomo from attack attack! started a band called beartooth so you see where that goes.

Considering I paid $200 something for the title to my 2006 Toyota Corolla, I'd say that's pretty good.

I never made a big deal about owning my first car (same car) tbh. Heck, I've never even taken a photo of it and I've had it for like 3 years already. I think it's because I never really wanted a car in the first place. But no doubt I need one, and I despise that fact because most people don't realize that the only reason we need one is because we've built our society upon having them. Everything was in walking distance before then. Watch that episode of Adam Ruins Everything on cars and you'll understand.

That aside, nice, hope you enjoy.

Dude! If you MUST own a car, get one in good mechanical condition. If you don't know how to determine that, find someone who does. No joy in limping around in a beater that won't beat.
"Your sound is in your hands as much as anything. It's the way you pick, and the way you hold the guitar, more than it is the amp or the guitar you use." -- Stevie Ray Vaughan

"Anybody can play. The note is only 20 percent. The attitude of the motherfucker who plays it is 80 percent." -- Miles Davis

I searched for "ford contour" and the results came out as "Mondeo".

did you take it to another mechanic to get a second outline regarding the shape of your contour? you might get different figures

If you're a Mondeo owner, it may not be transmission fluid your car is leaking. It may just be the jizz of the former Top Gear presenters.

If tranny fluid is leaking onto your brakes, I think your tranny is not where it's supposed to be.

unless it's a lemon, following the scheduled service intervals is enough to last 100k easily on almost any car. And if buying used, do due diligence, get PPI, etc. I have never been stranded on the road.

Unless the car is a POS in the first place and doesn't work right from the start. I made some dumb mistakes as a buyer and didn't do my research before buying a 2013 Fiesta. It looks great and feels good, when the dual-clutch transmission decides to work correctly. It's incredibly rough changing gear and can be downright dangerous at times. but Ford has kinda just swept it under the rug. They can replace it or reset the CPU under warranty, but they just replace it with the same poorly designed system.

Also the back door latch failed and had to be replaced, and I hardly ever used it. That also happened with my 99 Taurus.
