it's normal in certain dialects of english
it seems weird but consider that we also pronounce the 't' in 'tree' like a 'ch'

This is pretty much just an "are you a Britbong with a dumb mouth that doesn't work" thread. Because the only people who say Chooseday are Brits who don't know how to pronounce their own language anymore.

I use a bit of both. My accent sort changes slightly depending on who's around. I get "choose day" from the Filipinos and Brits in my life, and "two's day" from everyone else.

it's mentioned in that wikipedia page but just in case you didn't see it:

to americans, 'do' and 'dew' are homophones, as well as 'tune' and 'toon'

Yeah I was properly reading through it now.

I think it's just not that noticeable in some cases. Like for instance, the way some Americans pronounce news as noos is pretty blatant but there's some things, probably from the combination of me being a non native speaker and being more used to England English, that are just not noticeable until I pay real attention.

I guess I've heard "toosday" and subconsciously interpreted it as "choosday" before. Just like for a really long time I didn't realise "mom" was actually a different word to "mum", not just a different spelling. Or the one time Evan said it felt weird sometimes to call me Franc because he didn't pronounce the A in Franc the same as he pronounced the A in Francisco, and I'd never noticed that particular quirk of butt-English American English.

now that's linguistics

Anyway, I say it like choosday or chyoosday.
