Hi everyone. I'm completely new to this forum, so I'm sorry if I'm posting this in the wrong section!

I write all of my own songs and am passionate about making music. I'm wondering how I go about finding a record label? I have the balls and the drive to at least try and get my music out there. Could I just send out emails with low-quality demos of my songs that I recorded on a free iPad app? Does this record label have to be local? If I lived in Europe, could I apply to join an American record label for example?

Thanks everyone. Advice would be greatly appreciated.

No. These companies get hundreds to thousands of demo's a week. If yours is low-quality I think they won't even give you a chance.
I don't think you should be worrying that much about record deals now. First you should get your name out there, do a lot of shows, record an EP/album and when that hits you could look at spreading your name more by record deals.
