'enjoyable' shredding solos

Pick one or the other, can't have your cake and eat it too
Come back if you want to
And remember who you are
‘Cause there's nothing here for you my dear
And everything must pass

I'm sorry if you think anything from nirvana is hard... Can somebody give me serious answer?

Learn a legit 375 bpm arrangement of Orange Blossom Special.
There's no such thing; there never was. Where I am going you cannot follow me now.

Let me guess though, Mr Shred guy. You're some teenage dirtbag that thinks faster is better and the only thing that matters is playing the right notes. Bet your bends aren't even any good. Here's a good tune for you. By the way, he doesn't use a flat pick so you can't either.

Always thought that was a silly saying. What good is having a cake if you can't eat it?
#16
If I can't eat it then I don't want any damn cake in the first place.

Just sitting there. Teasing me.

In all seriousness, give this a shot, it's harder than it sounds, the accuracy in this song is pretty impressive.

All the best guitarists play telecasters. Jimmy Bryant, Brent Maso, Danny Gatton, etc. All guys that TS probably hasn't heard of. "Yeah, I'm a serious shredder but I only know Metallica, Marty Friedman (but only his work with Megadeth), Sstch, Vai, Yngwie, and Bockethead." That's TS. Bet he doesn't even know Mattias Eklundh or Dave Martone or Ron Jarzombek or any of the worth-their-salt metal shredders.

I just wanted to get my technical skills up and never said something that would make you assume that i think 'faster is better'... can't ask anything on this forum without getting shit

0:56, 1:58 and 2:37 for the solos OP. The first two are quite a bit easier than the third one so maybe start with them. Some of the rhythm parts in this song aren't too easy either.

Also, at the end of the first solo the guy's face makes the rest of the video worth it.

You said that you hoped I understood and that's how I understand it to usually be.

I would have included me but I have no pictures of me with my telecaster. Might take some today.

(Edit: Rob Marcello looks so bored playing it...)

Musicians tend not to concentrate when they play. BB King once said that he used to think about girls and panties when he plays rather than the music. Rob is making that "well, I gotta get my taxes done" face.

And yet when I play my tongue is sticking out and Im thinking "oh crap oh crap dont fuck up dont fuck up aaah! I spent too many hours practicing to fuck up!" thinking so hard about what Im doing. I guess thats what separates the pros from the amateurs.
Sat in a lab, curing diseases. They actually LET me play with chemicals!

I can't wait until this devolves into a discussion about how playing with ~feeling~ is superior to shredding.

That's your problem. If you think about fucking up you will fuck up. If you think about that cutie in the audience and how nice her boobies would feel against your face, you'll be fine.
