Speaking of lying to the government, I always thought it funny that I can vote with just a name and address without having to prove that I'm that person in any way.

Funny isn't the word that I'd use.

If they follow up and find that you've lied on a Census form, it's a $500 fine. I have no idea if that's ever actually been levied or not.
