collapsing moonlight foundation
made to disguise you in the midnight oils
dragged the stars down
the glitter in your mascara marked the eye of the storm
and it kept your cheeks warm until the taxi rank

senorita masqueraded imperfections
like broken coastlines letting the waves wash over
offered parts of her soul
sands that slipped away straight through her hands
a cheap tragedy scored by a cover band

camouflage marmite daydreams
slip and slide the mouth like chocolate
stains the teeth
the prequels briefly threaten the peace

rehearsing midnight poetry
to wow the silhouettes at kodak speed
so softly I try
but it's dancing on your shoulders
and it threatens to grab a hold of you once more

it's electric, never better, never got this far before
test the fuses for confusion, and barricade the door
she's selective, condescending, over-mended
and aggressively sure
that she's never heard of his name before

prescient gobstopper consuming
keeps the radio at a silent rate of knots
the gilded vinyl clocks
I can breathe the tension in
and carve it out into smoke rings

it's electric, never better, never got this far before
test the fuses for confusion, and barricade the door
she's selective, condescending, over-mended
and aggressively sure
that she's never heard of his name before

senorita masqueraded imperfections
like broken coastlines letting the waves wash over
offered parts of her soul
sands that slipped away straight through her hands
a cheap tragedy scored by a cover band

A cheap tragedy scored by a cover band is merely my favorite line in a series of wonderful lines. Kudos!

This is so sick, really good job on the rhythm and refrain (I guess is the right word). I may have more to say on this soon, but for now I just want you to know I loved it.

It's amazing, some tongue-twisters in there, but great lyric. The first stanza is great, I like the moonlight foundation/midnight oils/stars connection. The marmite line leaves me a little cold, but I absolutely love 'kodak-speed'.

Great job.
