I recently purchases a set of replacement tubes for my Tremoverb. Following replacement I found a lot of noise when the amp was sitting idle. I have dealt with this before by isolating each tube 1 by 1 until I found the microphonic culprit.

In this case however, the closest I come to is the V2 slot. Even after I put in the old tube the noise subsides somewhat but its still too loud. Any suggestions you can provide are welcome. I've gone through all the tube slots twice now.

Did you clean the sockets with contact cleaner when putting in the new tubes? If not I recommend DeOxit.

I did. Here is an update. I swapped the tubes out like twice with old tubes, and moved them around etc as I described above. Something happened today and somehow they seemed to have "settled in". How whacked is that?
