Hoi,

So of late I've been listening to chickenfoot and I found this song called "Up next". So I started transcribing it. Until the solo I didn't have any major problems. I know it uses a whammy bar and some other effects and I know I won't be able to play the whammy parts, however, there's this little "octave delay feedback part". It sounds good but I really have no idea what is going on. The effect is probably some delay and something?.. I'm pretty sure that part of the solo uses some kind of " octave jumps" high on the fretboard. I'm able to find some notes here and there but overall I have no idea what he's doing there and I just can't get it by ear.

The part starts at 2:50-3:00

Haven't listened to the song, but Joe often uses a Digitech Whammy pedal to have his notes jump up an octave - it has a foot control that allows you to do that. Tom Morello used to use that technique all the time in rage Against the Machine, assuming we're talking about the same thing.
