Hello there folks,

I have always kept one my strats in 1/2 step down tuning.. recently I went back to standard tuning, to my surprise the action automatically got raised by around 0.5 to 1 mm,. Is it normal that way ?? Neck is one piece flamed maple and i use 10's !

You increased string tension, as a result the neck may have bowed forward, increasing relief. Action can only be changed by raising or lowering the bridge.

With a strat, it'smay be the bridge has tilted slightly. Tightening the spring claw until the bridge is level again may do the trick.

I concur ... bridge probably pulled forward. You need a string tension / spring tension balance.

adjust the spring claw like mentioned from the extra 1/2 step tension first ...... then check neck relief second , you may need to tighten the neck a touch from the extra tension too
