I'm having a school talent show and i'm playing electric but i can't figure what songs to do
- some info are
-I'm playing by myself but i can use a backing track
-Electric Guitar Song
-Shorter than 5 minutes
-No one in my school know a lot of classic bands or songs (only the teachers do )
Thanks

A blues type of song would be amazing
For example - SRV

Ain't Talking Bout Love by Van Halen!

Sounds harder than it really is, so that could score you some bonus points since it sounds more technical. Plus it's a great song!

Depends on your playing ability, really. If it were me, I would go with something by Scale The Summit, because their guitar work is incredible, and it just sounds so very smooth.

But I guess you might not have a 7 string :/

Than I'll +1 Satch Boogie
2014 Ibanez RG8
2013 Schecter Hellraiser
1999 Schecter Revenger 7
2007 LTD 'Monster' F
B.C. Rich KK Warlock

Do the Green Acres theme to the tune of Purple Haze

Friend of mine did Peter Gunn over Purple Haze and it sounded pretty good

School talent shows all need more Focus.

Though maybe he should just play Hocus Pocus at like 150% speed so it fits under the 5 minute mark.

If you want to do Stevie Ray, Cold Shot is really easy once you get the muting down.

Alternatively, one of his chilled out instrumentals, like Riviera Paradise or Lenny. Both lots of fun.

Play Closer by Nine Inch Nails, but only if you sing it. Everyone will love it.

Also make it a solo jazz arrangement and base it on this cover:

There's no such thing; there never was. Where I am going you cannot follow me now.

"Communication Breakdown" by Led Zeppelin

I had a Talent Show at IMAX back in September 2015 and it was fun. I've played Epip LP Custom Pro on "Make Me Wanna Die" and Dean Dave Mustaine VMNTX on "Going to Hell", both songs by The Pretty Reckless", for a total of 10 minutes. Of course, I did not win a contest so it's all good.
