Hey everyone

I've been looking at Amps lately and I was wondering what a good amp in the 15watt to 40watt range would be for something around the price of a Fender blues Jr (around $550 usd) but I don't mind paying an extra $50 or so if I need to. I have a Fender stratocaster with a humbucker and 2 single coils and I want to be able play lots of styles (with a focus on a Muse style sound). I'm thinking that if it has a nice clean Tone with some reverb, then I can use Pedals to sculpt my sound.

Any suggestions of Amps or tips for finding the right amp?

another +1 for the DSL40C. A bit out of budget if you wish to buy new, but the difference from 15 to a 40 watt amp is important if you want a clean tone. The 15W is loud enough in most band situations, but it lacks the clean headroom to play in loud band situations. The 40w simply delivers.

The DSL40C has a good clean channel with the ability to go slight crunch. and a distortion channel with 2 voices.

Hey guys thanks for your help, the DSL40C was an amp I was thinking about cause I know matt Bellamy used a DSL of some sort on muses earlier albums, I just needed some insight and other opinions to see if it was a good amp for my uses. So if I was to change the speaker in the Marshall what speakers are good options.

I like the 40c.I will also echo that the weak spot is the speaker. Cheap and easy to replace. I would recommend a t75 or a v30. An OD may be a good thing to have too.

Possibly a Fender Super Sonic 22W

Edit: It may be a little out of your price range actually. I've seen some go for the price, but not often.

A G12M-65 creamback speaker would pronounce the British/Marshall sound. The V30 gives it a more modern sound. The bigger the magnet the more low end and high end you would get, but sometimes it is not a good thing.

Fender Hot Rod Deluxe is would be also in your budget but it is more suited for cleans.
