...or atleast wherever I may gig.

So I'm going to put together a small pedalboard for gigs, one I can trust will sound OK through most amps. I'm sick of having to compromise either my tone or my back when gigging.
So what I mostly need is a good distortion pedal. Right now I have an MXR dist+ that I hastily purchased before a gig because the venue didn't have the amp they advertised.
It's a decent pedal and it even sounds really good through some amps, but it sounds like shit through some amps too.
I'e had my eyes on the blackstar HT-dual for a while now and I'm going to try it out as soon as my guitar store replies to my e-mails, but for now I'm left wondering;

As much as I realize you can't expect all amps to process a pedal the same way, are there any pedals I should check out?
I'm looking for a tight yet full distorted sound, think something like NOFX.
My budget is basically unlimited, you see in Sweden the government basically pay for my gear

Thanks in advance!

Why get a mediocre Blackstar HT Duel when you effectively have an infinite budget?
Get an Axe FX and a Soldano SLO.

I have two "go wherever" boards.

Basically they each have three or four "gain" pedals which are a combination of OD's/fuzzes/distortions. A wah. A Chorus and phaser or vibe, a tremolo and one or two delays. Oh! and a tuner.

You forgot an EQ.

And a reverb pedal for amps that don't have them.

You caught me on the reverb.

As far as the EQ goes, I don't really use one on a regular basis.

I personally use a Gig FX VOD, which does the job great. I can plug it into anything and be happy with it. I did notice that when I use my IEM and a direct out, not an amp that is mic'd it sounds weird, like I get a wet and dry signal.

That being said, i get the same results with the Fulltone Fulltdrive, which I also recommend. SOunds like it isn't a pedal problem.

Now I want this: http://www.sweetwater.com/store/detail/FullDrive3Bk

The fulldrive three lets you put the OD/ Boost either before OR after the distortion, so you can saturate it more or boost for solos. I like the VOD, but that might be enough to make me switch.

In owning an MXR 10-band, I cannot imagine life without it. Having that level of control is just too nice a tool to not have imo.
