Which is your preference? Which one is more versatile in styles? Gibson Les Paul with 57s or Sg 490/498?

That's the advantage of being such a distance from Yianni. I can continue to live my life without fear of stumbling upon his dark terror.

An SG with 490/498.

Why?

I have this thing called a back and I don't want it to hate me.

I like Les Paul guitars in moderation. The 498T is going to be a bit hotter than the 57 classics. What pickup I would prefer depends on what amp I'm using and genre of music I'm playing.

Not to forget... you have the whole can of worms 250K, 300K, 500k, pots and what caps and all that jazz. Those things make a difference as well.

i think gibson makes terrible pickups

I had 490/498 in my Yammy SG. Pulled them out and threw in a JB/Jazz set. Best thing I ever did.
