Like, not the guy, but the name.

Have you ever met anyone with the name Shakespeare?

I have not.

Did they all die?

Did they get tired of the association and change their names?

To be

or

not

They were all written by Marlowe anyway.

In fact, Shakespeare was a distinct individual, but he used a pen name, because his real name was Thundercock Dicksmash

that probably wasn't even his real name lol

like, who would change their name to Hitler or Lincoln, etc
sure, there are people who come from those culture surnames, but they aren't common

i would definitely change my last name if i was born a Shakespeare, simply to avoid confusion and bullying haha

It had different connotations back in the day.

I expect.

True, maybe he would be Sir Tundercock, Duke of Dicksmash.

Sounds classy AF.

Being a duke trumps being a knight, so he'd really be Thundercock, xst/nd/rd/th Duke of Dicksmash(where x reflects how old the dukedom is).

Thundercock, 69th Duke of Dicksmash.

Imagine the lineage of that family. Bigger than my forearm I bet.

I just googled 'Alan Shakespeare', choosing the first name at random, and found a bunch of dudes on Facebook.

He's gone, but you can still find a few folks named "Francis Bacon".

35 in the US alone, and another 104 that go by "Frank" instead.

Everyone with the name "Shakespeare" probably gets asked if they are related to William, so they obviously get sick and tired of it and change their name

Also, there's some theory that Shakespeare was a bunch of different people or something. So actually, the names are "Sha" "Kesp" and "Eare". These are also uncommon surnames, because they are fucking stupid and anyone with these surnames will obviously change it.
I have nothing important to say

Never have I come across a person with the surname "Shakespeare".

Might be somewhere in the world a person still alive and has this surname. Passed down from generations. Highly unlikely.

Could of also been what happened.

It's gotta be tiresome to share a name with a famous person.

"Hey, I'm Jimmy."
"Nice to meet you. Your last name?"
"Hendricks."
"All right, asshole. What's your real name?"

Actually there are Einsteins here. The most famous one being Eric Einstein who was an Israeli Singer-Songwriter and actor.

He was not related to Albert Einstein.

Yes I know a Shakespeare but she will probably be married and change her name. Also I know there are several derivatives of the name, I'm not sure how her last name is spelt but wasn't there a few different ways old mate Will spelt his?
