Looking to move up to a little higher end guitar. Want an improvement over what I have as my skill improves as a reward. Problem is Im lefty and I really want an explorer style. Some opinions from our gracious crew would be appreciated.

Budget? - >800 flexible but not too much.

Favorite Artists? - Judas Priest- Screaming for Vengeance sound

Preferences? - Have a lot of low end LP styles, an Epi SG pro and a Jackson Flying V. Want an explorer style. Looked at chapman ghost fret but no lefty, dean makes a decent looking mid level explorer but I havent seen (or heard) one in person yet. dont like the look of the ltd explorer.

Pickups? - Like active and passive, HH setup for everything so thats what Im used to.

New or Used? - Could go used or new. Hard to find lefty guitars that fit the bill.

Location? - Houston, TX

Current Gear? - Laney 212 micro dark terror also have a peavey 112

Any personal experiences (lefty or otherwise) that would nudge me towards (or away from) a particular guitar would be great.
TIA

Carvin has some pointy guitars, but they don't have an explorer body at the moment.

I figured it was worth the thought. Bummer.

I am left handed and thank God every day that I learned to play guitar right handed. Lol.

Killer is a Japanese company with a pretty good rep. They have 2 Explorer-ish bodied lefties, one for about $900, one for @$1300.

And here's one on eBay from a pretty reputable seller:

So far i like it a lot. It was setup by a real guitar tech, new strings (eb slinky 10s), took off a few sharp edges on the frets, made sure they were level, got the action low. So far I am liking the pickups... May change after a while but they sound good for now. no coil tapping on this one. great metal sound outta them. Dont think I will change a thing for a while.
