What model is my Sigma guitar?
I got this guitar as a gift from someone in my family who used to play it but can't play anymore. He played it in a band that aired on the local radio station, so I think it's a good quality guitar. It's could be anywhere from 35-45 years old. I think it has a short scale length.

Here's some pics of my guitar:

IIRC Sigma was the martin budget line and they're supposed to be pretty solid instruments. hell, if it's playable after 30+ years that means it was at least somewhat well built.

most of the really old ones were from japan, i think that headstock logo is late 70's/early 80's

might be better asking the guys on the acoustic forum rather than electric though.

Yes.

Someone other than me, unfortunately.

Anyway IIRC, Martin has a lot of history on their website, (or maybe that's Ovation), perhaps Sigma does as well.

What we do know, is with the simple dot position markers, it's likely at the lower end of the line. That coupled with the fact, "all Martin dreadnoughts look alike to me", isn't helping either.

In any event, if it is 30 or so years ago, it looks to be in great shape, and it's raght purty.... Best of luck with it!

This site has a ton of information on vintage guitars: http://www.jedistar.com/jedistar_vintage_guitar_dating_a.htm

And do check Sigma's site, or try to find a Sigma forum.

@Tony Done: Please check this thread: https://www.ultimate-guitar.com/forum/showthread.php?t=1703155&page=3 Page 3, post #51 I made a correction which should clear up any confusion you had about "the 1st paragraph".

Yeah, I was thinking that by "top" you were meaning the two physically highest strings, ie 5 and 6, even though that wasn't what I would expect you to write. I blame such things on senility, it covers a multitude of sins. <sigh> I had to trek down to the ophthalmologist this morning, I had chucked out my new prescription in mistake for an old receipt of his. Luckily it is only a five minute walk from where I live.
