Hey guys!

I'm moving to Hawaii in August, and want to take one of my guitars and a small amp (my half stacks are staying on the mainland ). I've taken guitars on planes before, so I'm not concerned about that, but can you take an amplifier as a carry on? I plan on taking a Vox Pathfinder 10, it weighs 10 pounds and has dimensions of 14.96 in. x 10.24 in. x 6.69 in. Has anyone tried this or had experience with trying to take an amp as a carry on? Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks!

Jake

It's small enough, and everyone takes laptops on the plane, so an amp shouldn't be much different. They may ask you to plug it in and turn it on. Is it an open back cab? They may want to see inside or x-ray it. As long as they can confirm it's not dangerous, you may be ok. You can always call or email a TSA representative and ask them, too.
