So I was just on eBay checking out guitars, just a normal day. Then suddenly, I saw a beautiful LP by the name of Dolsey guitars. It seemed promising so I went to the details and it mostly only gave dimensions. I looked at some of their other models that resembled "T" type guitars and "P" type guitars, and it was the same thing, just dimensions. So I was wondering if anyone knows anything about these guitars, the type of materials they use, if the maple cap is an actual thick piece of maple etc?

Here are some links:

Well to be honest with you, they seem like just a random line of copy guitars that a guy had commissioned. Basically those fake Gibsons with a different headstock or logo. His shop is only on facebook and the only other thing listed for his business is a surf shop so take that how you will....

What to expect? A maple veneer (not a cap), cheap hardware, cheap pickups at the least. If its anything like the cheaper LPs I've purchased before you'll also have a poorly cut nut and sharp fret ends etc... So in the end you'll be spending dollars getting that thing into playing shape. So after you've dumped a ton of money into it you probably could've gotten something much nicer for cheaper.

Really? That's surprising, I was actually poking around on some other forums and they didn't give me much, but they did say it blew Epi's out of the water. Now I'm getting 2 different thoughts XD. I've posted link to other forums below, tell me what you think? Because I'm confused as hell

A lot of the posts on those threads are from people with either a single or 2 posts though. That seems very suspicious to me. The people that actually are posting in the threads have mentioned issues. One guy mentions that he had finish issues:

very sloppy clearcoat application and finger marks left behind by handling a wet finish (under the clear coat). The board is listed as "ebony" but I'm suspicious as there is dye transfer when I oil the neck.

Another one had these issues

I have one of their MD LP goldtops. It was unplayable on the low E and A string on the first two frets due to extreme fret buzz out of the box from mail order. I have over five guitars and have been playing for 20 years. When I say unplayable I mean you cannot play it as the higher fret literally stops the string from attenuating.

And the positive reviews are all from people that either haven't played them "my buddy loves his" or the random single post posters I mentioned. I probably wouldn't take the risk but if you're really considering this I suggest reading up on them as much as possible. They could be nice, I personally have no experience with them. I'm just going off what I see because they look similar to the kind of cheap guitars I see coming out of the far east.
