Hello there,
So I've been having this problem for a little while, and now I'm finally at a point financially and tonally that I can resolve it, with you're input UG community. The problem: I'm not quite sure if I'm looking for a boost pedal with slight flavor to add to my tone, or am I looking for a light, almost natural overdrive type tone. I am primarily a blues player, with heavy influences on 70's funk R&B, acoustic, and jazz. Before, I was a blues player who just wanted that raw overdriven sound. But now I've been playing with numerous artists and genres over the years, and I like a more balanced almost natural sound that my guitar makes, with the added depth from my amp. I've been experimenting for years now and can't quite find a tone I'm looking for, or even liking for that matter.

So far I've just stuck with you're average Boss OD-1, and the best I can say about it, is I got used to it. I needed that extra oomph during my solo's. Right now I'm rocking a 94 Strat through a peavey studio pro 60 (but I'm right in the process of buying a Peavey classic 20 mini head), and my side guitar is a 77 les paul. As I said, I want something that adds on to the flavor of my guitar during my solos. Not some drastic change or extra loud noise, just something that accents and heightens it to make the solo stand out a little bit more. Any input, suggestion pedals, eq's settings, etc. would be greatly appreciated. Also if you have anything to say about the peavey classic mini 20, please share.

thanks in advance guys!

Your OD-1 should do the things you ask in combination with the Classic mini. Since you intend to buy that amp anyway, why not try it with the OD-1 and see how you like it. You can still opt for a linear or treble boost later on.

It's not a TS clone. It's far more transparent.

^ Yeah. It's more in the ballpark of the bd2.
I'm an idiot and I accidentally clicked the "Remove all subscriptions" button. If it seems like I'm ignoring you, I'm not, I'm just no longer subscribed to the thread. If you quote me or do the @user thing at me, hopefully it'll notify me through my notifications and I'll get back to you.

I'll have to put the Classic T models on my to-try list. Shame the finish options there are Anachronism Gold, Nuclear Waste and Aged Clown, because in principle the plaintop is right up my alley.

Presumably because the CCF (Combined Corksniffing Forces) of MLP and Gibson forums would rise up against them, plunging the land into war.

^ yeah the circuit's different but when you use it as a clean boost it's not that far away in terms of tone. or the digitech screamin blues is even closer to the timmy in terms of functionality, since it's basically a blues driver with a bass control.
