I actually played a mandobass once. They're incredibly unwieldy for someone my size.

I think this woman concurs. The look on her face says "how the f-ck am I supposed to play this damn thing?"

According to the advertisement, that thing sold for US$150.00 new.

And now, 88 years later, you can have it for a mere US$15,000.00!!!

It might even be the exact same Mando-Bass!!!  Any takers?

She probably scratched it up with that pick, too.

Just got back from 2.6 weeks in the highlands with no musical instruments.

How do I play this thing?

You begin by consuming at least four (4) Bourbon Manhattan cocktails.  Then you pick up your bass and play.

You turn the fiddly bits and strum the stringy parts.  But don't forget to twist the turny-things.

It got super drunk and was zombified for my whole day at work. Doing it right?

If you woke up with a strange, naked woman in your bed and you had no idea who she was or how she got there, then yes.  You're on the right track.

She may be strange and naked but she's been there for seven and a half years.

So you won't be sending a king's ransom to Pete Cornish to build you one of his dream machines?

So by the transitive property anything Pete Cornish touched is also Sting?

I could think of worse things to be.

It can always be worse.  You could be stuck in a never ending loop of Bio-Dome.  Or you could be Nickelback.

I'm playing a precision bass into a Sansamp (clone) and I've realized I've turned into every bassist ever.

But...doesn't that mean that you've turned into...(gasp!) Gene Simmons???

Cheaply made Chinese boots that wear out after a few miles so you need to buy a new pair thus keeping the poor poor.

Like Berhinger.

While I agree with you about Behringer, I'm afraid that the boys in KISS pay a fortune to have those boots custom-made by a guy in Hollywood.  I've seen the guy's shop.  A pair probably costs more than a lot of people paid for their car.  Each pair of those boots weighs about 30 pounds, too.  Definitely built to last.

Now, if you want to talk about Gene's late Punisher bass from Cort...

I thought he just couldn't stand to have a signature bass by the same company that built one for Jeff Berlin.

... Could you?

If it were a fine bass with an ebony fretboard and I got a bunch of them for free, then sure.  What can I say?  I'm shameless.

And don't suggest that I'm giving Corgis a bad name!  They're shameless, too!
