Hey!

How important is the cab in relation to the guitar head I'm using?! I've been playing through a Marshall half stack for the past few years and have had some success but have recently been tempted to get one of the new micro heads in the form of a 5150, orange dark terror or lanes ironheart.. How much of an impact would the cab as a lot of articles I've seen say you should have different cabs for different heads..?!

Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks

..and if I'm in the UK??

Will the sound from a new head sound awful through my existing cab then?

If you are in the uk, a Harley Benton 2x12 loaded with V30s They are very affordable if you get them from thomann (maybe less so for the UK, now that the pound has tanked).
But honestly, a cab makes a huge difference. I had a random ibanez cab, and switched it for one with V30s and its a night and day difference. I also tried my friends marshall AVT cab that came with his head, and there is no comparison with mine. Just get something with V30s and you will be set for life, at least as far as cabs go.

yeah that's the big problem. things may even out again, or they may not.

I mean- it's still pretty good value. It works out as £188 or so (maybe a little more if your credit card stings you a few percent for the currency conversion) which is still pretty good, but before the pound devalued it was about £160.
I'm an idiot and I accidentally clicked the "Remove all subscriptions" button. If it seems like I'm ignoring you, I'm not, I'm just no longer subscribed to the thread. If you quote me or do the @user thing at me, hopefully it'll notify me through my notifications and I'll get back to you.

I'll have to put the Classic T models on my to-try list. Shame the finish options there are Anachronism Gold, Nuclear Waste and Aged Clown, because in principle the plaintop is right up my alley.

Presumably because the CCF (Combined Corksniffing Forces) of MLP and Gibson forums would rise up against them, plunging the land into war.

Buy this http://m.ebay.co.uk/itm/Zilla-Super-Fatboy-2x12-guitar-cab-/282094319400?nav=SEARCH

Zilla make quality cabs (look them up), that is a very good price. If I wasn't on holiday I'd have picked it up already.

I've always found Zilla to be overpriced to be honest, especially when Roadkill are doing the same custom options and such but for less money. Had my Stag about four years and I still love it to this day.
