Anybody into this?
I'm 3 episodes in and it's pretty amazing.
Especially if you were an American 80s kid or into 80s movies you should joyously wallow in the 80s nostalgia oozing from every single aspect if this show.

Even if you aren't either of those it's still pretty cool.

Winona Ryder always steals the show!

But that little girl playing El isn't Winona Ryder.

On episode 5, will probably finish it tonight. I love the music they use in this show. It's like non-cheesy 80's synth pop which I thought was impossible

I've gotten really into the 80s synth pastiche thing this year so I'm loving it

The soundtrack reminds me a bit of It Follows. I really enjoy the retro experimental synth thing they have going on. It's very mysterious and creepy

It's pretty good. Unapologetically unoriginal, but very fun.

I think pretty much every scene is homage to an 80s movie. There's a whole lot of E.T. in it. And some Goonies I picked up on so far.
E.T. begins with kids playing D&D, and the government guys hazmat suits or whatever are right from E.T.
There's one scene in particular with the hazmat suit guys and their faces are all illuminated in a blue light. I swear that exact scene is from some 80s movie I can't think of.

Reminds me of Super8 too
but that was a homage to the ET / Goonies thing too

The slow mo slingshot bit when it looks like Lucas did it but he bare didn't hmu

The sequence after and the scene after where Hopper is having flashbacks to his daughter dying had me in tears.

The climax of the finale was perfect.

yeah I had a desk fan pointed at my face during the finale so any tearing up was purely incidental

I gotta get this cool as fuck poster.

Maybe you're not so bad.

That poster's been on my mind for three days now.

Can we talk about just how fucking amazing Millie Brown is as Eleven? Can we talk about how these child actors have a serious, serious future in this business? Cuz she is, and they do.

My biggest gripe is that they seriously underused Chris Sullivan, who's proven that he needs to be in at least every damn medium after The Knick.

Yeh these kids are great.
especially El, normally kids pretending to be adults creeps me out. (Dakota Fanning ruined so many 00s movies) but something about her "adultness" is unforced and unintentional.

The Duffer Brothers though.

Owing to this whole 'warm' thing that was going on yesterday/last night, I finished this at about 6 this morning.

Will tell everyone I know to watch it even if it's not their thing/10

I watched all the 8 episodes without pausing. It was crazy since I rarely watch TV shows. It was great!

Could anyone enlighten me about the ending though? Hopper bringing food to El? What?
