hi everyone. I recently started trying to record some demo's of my songs at home. I don't have much of a clue about recording techniques or how to even work the 8 track or software yet but I thought I'd just put something up and see how it goes. Hope some of you like it.

Congrats diving in. Trial and error is a good way to learn in my opinion. I am not an expert on the subject but I do have some hands on experience recording a handful of songs I wrote using a Tascam 4-track cassette recorder. I finally upgraded to a digital 8-track unit this past year but have not invested much time into learning how to fully utilize the unit. The digital unit's line-in inputs have improved in sound quality greatly compared to the line-in on the analog cassette unit. I used a good old shure-57 mic to record drums, guitar, bass, and vocals (in that order). I would love to have a Mac or PC based Digital Audio Workstation recording set-up.
