There´s a used one on the market here priced to sell and I´m always a sucker for a good deal. I just haven´t ever played one and the seller is an hour´s drive away from here.
I wasn't a fan of it. Felt like a guitar that wanted to be a Les Paul but just wasn't if that makes any sense. If weight of a full size Les Paul is an issue, I'd get an SG or one of those newer ES Les Pauls without F-holes.
I think they're cool, and would be great for live performances. I've never tried one, but to be honest there won't be any tonal difference in it electronically. It'd just feel way better to play with for hours on end
They had/have one at the local SA. I've played it twice. I liked it. Nice neck, great sound. Not as light as you would think though. They were asking $1250 if I recall.
This is great video highlighting the main differences between them. Pus a side by side comparison.
Yeah the weight difference isn't all that much - which is kind of surprising at first, but when you think about how they actually take big chunks out of the les paul shape as it is, it's not too surprising. If I had a choice I would probably go for the thinner les paul, just because I prefer a slimmer profile in regards to guitars.
