Heavy/speed/traditional metal post 2000s. Let's do it. Leave the hall if you're a false (Hint: Get out of here with your flower crap).

Night Demon isn't reinventing the wheel, but they are a fun a worthwhile band. Really nice guys too. Go see a show and have a beer with Jarvis.

Not sure where you're living, Kyoto, but Night Demon is on tour with Carcass, Crowbar, and Ghoul right now. Really good fucking show if you can make it.

I'm not familiar with Iron Kobra, pretty damn good stuff though.

Seeing these guys in October.

I'm going to use this thread to dump all the new trad and power metal bands I've found recently.

Who are you? The prince of darkness? Don't you have any friends?

Cut the Crap still gets regular spins from me - they killed it when the played with Satan this year.

Speaking of that show, and bands who were ridiculously good:

Debut album later this on High Roller, and it should be great.

EDIT: Just listen to that chorus, like a gutteral instinct for BLOOOODD SACCRRIIFFIIIICCE to pour from his lungs lest his body explode. That's why I'm into Visigoth.

a wonderfully mid tempo emphasis of HEART. A RALLY CALL TO MARRCH

MAAAAAAAAAAARRCCCCHHHH

Intro leaves me speechless, wonderful shift into the riffs. Vocals that will make you grow hair on your chest.

Big obvious jesus christ I forgot Portrait. Refined their sound since these days, not a bad thing. Wonderful band. It's kinda funny how badly they wanted to sound like King Diamond

Very glad they found their own sound.

and also this BEAST of an album.

Buckle up It's time to rock!

god forbid we don't have Trial in here somewhere. Vessel is something I recommend to almost everyone looking for metal, as few as they are nowadays.

Crossroads and Vessel are two of the best modern heavy metal albums. Acerus's The Clock of Mortality is up there as well, on a technical level. Visigoth and Noble Beast are undeniably killer as well. I've run across Eternal Champion before. I remember liking it but for some reason I didn't mark them down... I'd never heard Argus or Seven Sisters before!! Killer stuff.

Here's a find from \powerslave/: Ravensire

EDIT: Vocalist sounds like fuckin Running Wild

Severed's posts in this thread thus far have been phenomenal. Fukk me, did I love The Revenant King.

No one here will be unaware of In Solitude, but I love it, so bollocks to the lot of you. It might be odd to talk about vocals when the riffing is so good and infectious, but I'll be damned if Pelle's performance on this record wasn't fukking perfect.

Just balls out fun.

I'm obligated to post this legendary local band of mine. I'm sure most of you know of them already (hopefully) ZUUL motherfucker.

I have toted these guys around here plenty already: Lethal Steel. Pure fucking 80's worship. Production and everything.

Iron Spell, solid band from Chile

Straight up 80's whorshipping goodness and a whole barrel of fun, too.
Who are you? The prince of darkness? Don't you have any friends?

Zuul are incredible. One of my favourite releases from them too.

May as well not stop the speed train,

Lots of new things to check out. I will listen through the videos and post my thoughts later.

I'm sure everyone knows Enforcer, but goddamn do I love this fucking song. Plus, tits covered in blood are always fun.

Love Vulture and Enforcer. Steel Inferno sounds great. Speedtrap is another favorite.

Continuing the circle-jerk:

Steelwing have always been a pretty good but largely forgettable speed metal act (IMO). In 2015 they decided to reboot their sound, dirty their production up, and start worshiping King Diamond and Mercyful Fate while sprinkling in some black/death influence. Their core fanbase HATED it. I LOVE it.

Yet each and every one shall, taste of British Steel
Their deceit and artifice, waylaid by the fury I wield

Mighty & Superior! - My cry of victory

Obvious, but this thread is a stain this forum's honour without them:

Any fans of Scanner or anyone wanting to listen to some quality Euro-styled old school fucking POWER metal should check out the kick ass band Blizzard Hunter

WULFHOOK sounds like classic USPM mixed with early Deris-era Helloween. Definitely recommend.

Deliverence were so far ahead of their time. Name how many extreme bands you can hear in here?

Haven't heard Graven Rite before! Quality sound, loving the vocals.

One not to forget! Bade the Myrmidons, 16:05. Enjoy that hook. It's beautiful. Wonderfully sorrowful.

Graven Rite is killer. How was I listening to Eternal Champion and yet managed to miss that demo all this time? What a bummer. Bloodstone Ring has hooks for days. Vocalist has a few shades of Midnight in his voice on The New Faith. Whole thing is very atmospheric, a sound of erudition without missing out on muscle.

I still need to work through this thread, haha.

This is more on the hard rock side, but I fucking love that opening riff so damn much.

Where Tehoms breath caresses the neck
A sense of enlightment deep in an emptied chest
A sudden blaze burns out blackened eyes
But the eye ahead sights a devoted child

Traverse the pathway of concealment within
With the loyalty of night's heroin
Unwrapping the seals of a third blighted orb
With the deeds of our righteous lord

Further Beyond
For thirst of death bounds the putrid flesh

I can't stop loving this album. Every song.

Holy fucking shit, that was so good. As Severed said, great vocals and overall sound. Most of all, interesting and memorable.
