Here pretty soon I should be having my first gen Peavey Vypyr 120w repaired and would like to get a different set of tubes since they'll be replaced anyways. I'm not entirely sure what I want to replace it with, though. And was wondering if anyone here could chime in.

I'm thinking about putting in a Genalex 12AX7 gold preamp and Tung Sol 6l6 STR for the power tubes. Any thoughts on those or a better alternative?

I've always bought JJ's and for the money, I've had no reason to choose anything else.
