Just stumbled on this voicing...

e|--0--------------------------------
b|--0--------------------------------
g|--6--------------------------------
d|--4--------------------------------
a|--5--------------------------------
e|--5--------------------------------

sounds good followed by

e|--0--------------------------------
b|--0--------------------------------
g|--6--------------------------------
d|--4--------------------------------
a|--5--------------------------------
e|--7--------------------------------

I agree the low A is somewhat superfluous in the first chord - it makes a fine Dmaj13 without it.

How about this for the 2nd chord, adding the 7th (losing the 5th) to make Bm11:
-0-
-0-
-6-
-7-
-5-
-7-

And there's this of course (although you lose the nice close voicings in your shape):
-9-
-7-
-9-
-7-
-9-
-7-

jongtr Nice, jongtr. One back for you..

-12-
-10-
--7-
-11-
----
----

Also nice to add open A string to that, or a B.

Om a good day, when the pinky can curl properly, then its also great to add

--9--
--7--

for the e and a strings. It's a tricky shape though, especially on acoustic, as you have to use the pinky to fret the 11th fret, and use the outer edge of it to fret the 12th fret on the treble E. (Or add a finger from picking hand for that)
