I've always thought my voice is abit weird and not really in the sweet spot or style I would like it to be tonally. I look up to singers with distinct voices and I feel as I if I should give up singing since I don't really have that special of a voice I think.

Any tips on overcoming this feeling?

Sounds like you have a distinct voice. Develop it further... if you want to.

Meanwhile listen to Roy Orbison, Bob Dylan, Jimmy Buffet, Bon Scott, and Willie Nelson. All of their voices are a bit odd, unusual, distinct, or down right annoying. They turned those weird voices into gold and the only difference between them and you? They never quit.
"Your sound is in your hands as much as anything. It's the way you pick, and the way you hold the guitar, more than it is the amp or the guitar you use." -- Stevie Ray Vaughan

"Anybody can play. The note is only 20 percent. The attitude of the motherfucker who plays it is 80 percent." -- Miles Davis

For some reason the link doesnt work for me, but as far as i see there are two options. You either have a distinctive voice, or you sound like one of the singers you like. And i think its the first one, since everyone has a distinct voice. It might lack character and depth, but thats something that lessons will fix.
