So I have been playing Bass Guitar for about two years, and I feel like I have done all there is to do on it. So I bought a Schector Omen-6 and I love it. But when I strum chords, I always have trouble muting the E string. Should I use my thumb and reach over? Or use my index finger and mute the string. I am very confused and I need to know the most efficient way.

Most of the time you can wrap your thumb around and mute the top string if needed. Other times, like barre chords, the index finger may work better. It's already barred across the strings, so it's easy. For open chords, usually I wrap my thumb around.
Hmmm...I wonder what this button does...
