Hi guys,

I have an M-Audio Fast Track here for recording on my PC and I have been getting a crackling sound coming through my speakers. It happens a lot and has been happening for a while now. Does anyone know why this would be? I have tried changing the USB cable as I read that it may be the problem but it did not change a thing.

When I am recording I have to turn the track volume all the way down so it doesn't crack. It also happens when I am just playing a long to a song with my guitar plugged into the interface.

Is it a common thing for this device? Do I need to upgrade?

Any help would be appreciated!

Thank you!

that happened to my fast track, it was soon in the trash can. unusable.

i ended up with a focusrite 2i4, and i am happy with it, but i am not a huge recording buff.

i haven't done this, but maybe you could clean the jacks/switches/etc. won't set you back much for contact cleaner. always good to have around anyways IMO.
