I recently got the desire the finish my old guitar project. It's a Jackson dinky with an 81/85 EMGX setup. I was having a problem with it not producing any sounds on an amp. I ended up wiring each pickup individually to the output jack and they would produce sound. So I thought it was something in the wiring so I ordered a new plug and play kit from EMG and hooked it up (1 volume , 1 tone) and still no sound. Everything is wired just like the diagram, only thing is I don't have a switch wired up. Do I have to have one to make it work?

We'd need pictures but how did you bypass the switch connections? The switch is what completes the circuit for the pickups.
