Good Day all! I haven't done one of these in an while, but couldn't resist after picking up this gem. This week I got my hands on, what I believe is a 66' Fender Bassman head and cab. As I'm no expert I've taken some gut pics in the hopes that someone else here maybe able to help me verify it. It appears to be all original.

At first she was pretty noisy every time you'd touch the controls, and I was hesitant to buy it, but I trusted my gut, and pulled the trigger (managed to get a much better deal as well). Turned out that a littler contact cleaner was all she needed to be working as good as new! I figured I would need to do a cap job, as the owner of the last 15yrs said he hadn't touched it, but it looks good to me; but I'm no expert. What do you guys think (picks below)?

This is the only real vintage Bassman that I've been able to spend much time on, but I'm absolutely in love! It's just so clean, and powerful, with tremendous response. Theres just so much definition in every note you play. So far I've only tried throwing a Soul Food in front of it, but it sounded great. Pure rock distortion. I've only had a couple hours on it so far, but I will try to update with some demos later the week.

For now, heres some pics to enjoy!

I'll have to put the Classic T models on my to-try list. Shame the finish options there are Anachronism Gold, Nuclear Waste and Aged Clown, because in principle the plaintop is right up my alley.

Presumably because the CCF (Combined Corksniffing Forces) of MLP and Gibson forums would rise up against them, plunging the land into war.

Yeah guy's, I've been really digging it so far!

I took the extra cash that I was able to get thrown in on the deal, and just ordered a fresh set of glass!

I'm working on getting some demos, if you guy's are interested. Just waiting to get the house to myself so I can really let her roar Very loud for a 50W amp!

your transformers are schumachers transformer from the 4th and 2nd week of 1966. your speakers should have a date code on them too, but '66 looks to be a very good guess. it looks like it is in excellent shape.

i love those old pine cabinets, they flex like hell and sound awesome. it is very hard (impossible?) to find cabinets like that anymore. today pine cabs are made with made with a bunch of small pieces glued together to make a board, but back in the day they used old growth pine to make solid sheets.

enjoy and thx for sharing.

For a 50 year old amp that looks to be in beautiful condition. Hope you get another 50 years out of it.
