Sorry for a morbid thread. Lost another former colleague the other day, by his own hand.
I guess sometimes no matter what we've done or tried to do, the things we take away and the things we bring home with us are too much to carry.

A couple of days ago I took a brief tour of a nearby VA as a possible internship site in the spring. Things are rough for a lot of vets.

Also, with help, rough times can get better.

Agreed, but the problem is very difficult and multifaceted (just like suicide across society.)

The book Tribe by Sebastian Junger is a good read

Yes there's no easy solution for sure.

Haven't read it yet, enjoyed his previous. On my list for sure

As someone who was suicidal (for different reasons) and has lost friends to suicide I can imagine the pain on both sides
