Well, considering I have no social life and most of my hobbies (besides playing guitar really good for no reason) require an internet connection...

It's more than just millenials not being able to cope without cat videos. Everyone is expected to have internet and e-mail access these days. It would be like not having a phone number or a permanent address. It sets you back in unforeseen ways.
#6
I said that long ago. I made it clear I'm old and totally dependent on tech. And thankful for it.

Pretty much this. The only reasons I have Facebook is because it allows me to keep contact with my friends and colleagues, and I use it for business (such as finding gigs and what not).

However, I often think to myself that having a cottage in the woods without internet connection would be nice if ever I need to get work done (such as songwriting or recording).

I'd have to actually leave the house to find food rather than prodding at the Papa John's app while lying in bed

And it'd be back to the dark days of scouring abandoned parks and inner city wastelands for ripped out third pages and discarded porn magazines
But boys will be boys and girls have those eyes
that'll cut you to ribbons, sometimes

There'd be no quick business hustles for me. If I wanted to sell something I'd have to rent a building somewhere in some shopping center with astronomical rental fees.

Only news source would be Fox News and CNN, (nobody would watch MSNBC even if it was the only channel and no internet)

Encylopedias would be a part of life again.

I think I've actually had this nightmare before

staying in touch with people (I am very bad at this, even with the internet available)
no/less porn (prob end up going to sex shops and paying way too much for dvds)
music (restricted to whatever band turns up at gigs, so just local bands and international bands with big enough followings + whatever is popular on tv/radio. I suppose I'd get back into buying magazines)
O.K.

It means I wouldn't be able to trade guitar pedals at such a prolific rate, mostly. My social life would still exist. In fact, it'd probably encourage me to get out and physically see people more.

I actually lived and survived in the world before internet existed so I would experience some inconveniece but would not have thoughts of suicide.

Having an actual social life not just an online social life has it's merits.

The last time I checked there were still plenty of brick and mortor libraries with more reliable reference material than Wikipedia.

Now those of you who say you would either kill yourself or at the very least just die don't go hatin on me and screaming "you are just old and every young person isn't a slave to cell phones/internet"

I wouldn't actually contemplate suicide, for the record. >_>

Naw, if anything, much like JustRooster, it would probably be the driving force that gets me up and out more often.
Not that it holds me back, I've just never had any interest. I'd probably be so bored out of my mind that I'd try it.

theguitarist Honestly, I think not having the internet would change radio stations dramatically. There would be a higher demand for different and newer stuff, and bands that are successful that don't get played on the radio would get airtime.

This is very true. I have no internet at my house, so I have to spend time and money to go somewhere and use the internet. It affects access to job searches, sales deals, any kind of updates. My work's benefit system runs entirely online, and colleges communicate through email and web portals. I have a tuition reimbursement program at work for an online school, but no home internet.

besides social media (which i could live without tbh)

i'd probably just spend way more time outside, practice guitar more, and i can play every single one of my videos games without internet connection so that's a not a deal breaker either.

also, lot of college/school courses require you to do online tests / homework, etc so you wouldn't be able to take online classes, that could be a real hindrance for most people
same thing with just general knowledge and research, not many people go to the library for books anymore...

Instead of wasting time browsing various websites I'd waste time by playing (more) video games. I'd get by, but I'd miss being able to illegally download things. It would make my jobsearch harder as well.
I have nothing important to say
